About MeMy name is Reenie Montgomery and I live in Manchester. I am running for State Representative for District 96, which is Delaware and most of Jones Counties. I grew up in Dyersville, as well as Earlville and Delhi. My parents owned their own construction company and they also owned the Pizza Place in Delhi before moving to Texas in 1986. I learned the value of hard work at an early age, working full time at the Ertl Company and going to high school during my Senior year at Maquoketa Valley. I also worked at the Pizza Place for my family. After graduation, I lived for 28 years in Monticello. I have worked in public service for 25 years, starting with the Monticello Ambulance Service as a volunteer EMT. That led to work with the Monticello Police Department and the Anamosa Police Department as Administrative Assistant and Reserve Police Officer. I currently work for the Manchester Police Department as a Dispatcher, where I have been for 11 years. I am married to my wonderful and supportive husband, Tim, who is a Police Officer. I am running for State Representative because I think it’s time for a change. I want to focus on doing what is best for Iowa and not corporations or special interest groups. I want more accessible mental health treatment, an increase in school funding and to make our schools safe. I also want to bring back rights for collective bargaining for employees.I am asking for your support today, whether it’s a donation or your time. Every effort will be needed to get these goals completed, this is a team effort between you and I. I look forward to your ideas and thoughts. Together we can make Iowa a great place to live! Thank you for your time.
